Under the Treaty of Accession of Estonia to the European Union and the Treaty establishing the European Community, Estonian citizens may, as from 1. Under the Treaty of Accession and the Treaty establishing the European Community, from 1 May 2004, Estonian citizens may enter the territory of the other Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA) – Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – on the basis of both a valid passport and an identity card. In addition to the countries listed above, Estonian citizens may also travel to Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia on the basis of an identity card. Estonian citizens can stay in these countries for up to three months.<\/p>

If an Estonian national wishes to move to another Member State to live, work or study, or to look for work in another Member State, he or she must register his or her stay. To register, you must apply to the competent local authority no later than three months after the date of entry. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs draws attention to the fact that if an Estonian citizen stays in another Member State for more than three months and he\/she has to register his\/her stay with the competent authority of that country, he\/she may need a passport.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
